Sherlock Home Inspectors, helping buyers with NJ home inspections

What do buyers need to know when it comes to NJ home inspections?  A few key details, the first of which is to hire an experienced and reputable inspector.  While the inspector you hire will go over the checklist with you it doesn’t hurt to know what to expect from a home inspection.

Your New Jersey home inspection should include the following:

  • Exterior, including walkways, driveways, steps, siding, windows, doors, siding, trim, decks and patios among other items.  Of course one of the biggest items to remember on the exterior is the roof.  Knowing the age and condition is important for home buyers.
  • Interior, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, cabinetry, walls, doors, ceilings, and stairways, among other items.
  • The fireplace.  If a fireplace and exists an inspection on the interior and exterior is necessary.
